what to expect as a Wheaton agent
We’re honored that you’re interested in becoming an interstate agent. Wheaton World Wide Moving agents are the best-of-the-best and meet the highest standards in the industry. Once your application is approved, here’s what you can expect from Wheaton in the weeks and months ahead:
In the first week after your agency agreement is signed:
- Wheaton will issue an announcement to introduce your company to the Wheaton system.
- Our marketing department will create a professional press release and distribute it to your local media, and the industry.
- You’ll receive an initial supply of items needed to get started as a Wheaton agent, including operational forms, sales materials, order forms for additional supplies, fleet qualification packets, etc.
- Wheaton will order business cards for your staff, Wheaton stationery and building signs.
- Wheaton’s Agency Development Department will advise all Wheaton departments of the specific details in your agency agreement.
Prior to the on-site orientation:
- A Wheaton training manager will contact you to review your company’s training needs.
- Your staff will be registered and introduced to ERNIE (Wheaton’s estimating and order tracking program) and Access Wheaton through online training.
- Your staff will complete the Agent Certification Program (ACP), which covers basic Wheaton policies and procedures.
- Driver and equipment qualification procedures will be completed for entry into Wheaton’s fleet.
On-site orientation overview:
- The orientation program will be customized to fit the needs of your staff. Regardless of your experience level,
the orientation will be customized for you.
- The orientation will cover policies and procedures, proper completion of paperwork, operations, revenue processing, and technology/ information systems – over a two-to-three day period.
- You will meet with your Regional Sales Director (RSD) to discuss marketing and sales development for your agency.
- The Sales and Marketing Department will assist you with important items, including your Web site, Yellow Pages, and other forms of advertising.
Throughout the orientation process and the first several months:
- As a new Wheaton agent, you’ll have access to all the resources available to make your transition go smoothly and ensure the success of our partnership.
- Your primary point of contact will be the Agency Administration personnel – although you should expect to be contacted by other members of the Wheaton staff to check on your progress.
Our new agent orientation is a proven process designed to help get all new agents quickly acclimated to Wheaton. Our
goal is make the transition as smooth as possible.
